Treat everyone with respect ( at least until they give you grounds for not doing so). Waiters, taxi drivers, girls on the cash till, cleaners. Make it yr habit to be pleasant. Make it a challenge to raise a smile in the people around you. In short BE GENEROUS not mean spirited. That will upgrade your life x 100.
Be realistic with your plan. How much time, energy and finances do you have to invest in it? Budget options could be resources such as books, online courses, networking with others who inspire you, etc. rather than high ticket programs and 1-to-1 coaching.
I think It's depends on what you are aiming to upgrade in your life and how much improvement is required… e.g. is it upgrading only for your health or only for your etiquette or perhaps it’s a bit of everything and therefore requires a holistic solution. Also, is the upgrade a tweak to something or a complete transformation? However, the key is usually…
Accountability. Share it with a trusted person who wants to see you succeed. The key is the ‘correct’ person. Someone who will support you not sabotage your efforts.
I think people are fearful that success won't live up to the expectations/dreams that they have of what success looks like in their head. Then what? Additionally, I believe that people think boldness comes from major action--like a hero in a movie--rather than belief that small forward steps can be bold too. Great article, as always.
People are fearful of everything, but it is better to achieve something that doesn't live up to a fantasy rather than remain idle and dream. But I agree with you. No one realizes that the heroic process is a series of countless small actions that lead up to life changing results. A complete transformation. An inner journey opens up the outer world.
